RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed 14 militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Naal area of Khuzdar district in Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The operation was carried out on June 8, 2026, after intelligence inputs indicated the presence of armed individuals linked to what officials described as an India-backed proxy network referred to as Fitna al-Hindustan. The militants were reportedly planning attacks on a nearby police station and financial institutions in the area.
According to ISPR, security forces launched a swift and targeted intelligence-based operation immediately after receiving the information. The statement said the movement of the militants was effectively tracked and they were engaged as soon as contact was established, resulting in an intense exchange of fire. During the operation, 14 militants were killed on the spot, while several others were injured.
The military further stated that four vehicles used by the militants were destroyed during the operation, and improvised explosive devices were either recovered or neutralised. Following the action, security forces also carried out sanitisation of the area to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure full clearance of militant presence.
ISPR confirmed that one soldier, Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbas, was martyred during the operation after fighting bravely in the exchange of fire. He was described as having laid down his life in the line of duty.
The statement added that counterterrorism operations under the national security framework Azm-e-Istehkam will continue across the country with full intensity to eliminate militant networks and maintain security and stability.
