WEB DESK: A post-mortem examination of nine-year-old Hania Adeel has confirmed that she died due to multiple gunshot injuries sustained during an alleged encounter involving the Counter Crime Department (CCD), according to medico-legal findings.

The report states that the child succumbed to severe internal and external bleeding caused by extensive injuries, which ultimately led to the failure of her heart and lungs. Medical officials noted that all injuries occurred before death, with the interval between injury and death described as extremely brief and almost immediate.

According to post-mortem details, 11 distinct injury marks consistent with bullet wounds were found on the child’s body. A metallic bullet fragment was also recovered and handed over to investigating authorities for forensic examination.

The examination further revealed severe trauma, including a fracture to the right thigh bone and critical damage to the right lung, which resulted in the accumulation of blood within the chest cavity. Injuries were also recorded to the liver as well as both the large and small intestines.

Hospital authorities confirmed that the child’s blood-stained clothing, X-ray images and other medico-legal evidence have been handed over to police for further investigation into the incident.

The medico-legal report added that the post-mortem was conducted six to eight hours after death as authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the alleged encounter.
