LONDON: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain’s residence in north London came under attack after two masked men entered the property and allegedly attempted to force their way into the house.

According to accounts provided by MQM officials and video footage shared by the party, the two men jumped over the front gate of Hussain’s home in the Mill Hill area and caused damage while attempting to gain entry.

The footage shows the intruders damaging a front door and a window as they tried to enter the property.

Hussain was inside the house at the time of the incident and was reportedly only a short distance away in his bedroom. The intruders fled after an alarm was activated, according to the MQM account.

Police were called following the incident, with MQM officials saying officers attended the property and collected forensic evidence as part of an investigation.

The identities of the two men and their motive were not immediately known.

Hussain later appeared outside the residence alongside around a dozen supporters and described the incident, saying the masked men attempted to enter the property twice.

According to Hussain, the men initially jumped into the property and left before returning around 10 minutes later and causing further damage.

He also pointed to a flower pot which he said had been used in an attempt to smash the window beside the main entrance. Cracks were visible in the glass in the footage shared after the incident.

The MQM-London Rabta Committee strongly condemned the attack and called on British authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and identify those responsible.

Party leaders described the incident as a serious security concern for Hussain and urged authorities to determine who was behind the attempted break-in and why the residence was targeted.
