LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has expressed happiness and pride after her youngest daughter, Mahnoor Safdar, completed her graduation in Anthropology from SOAS University of London.

Maryam attended her daughter’s graduation ceremony in London during a brief private visit to the British capital.

Speaking to Geo News after the ceremony, the Punjab chief minister said she was extremely happy that her youngest daughter had completed her university education.

“I am very happy about my daughter’s graduation. I thank God that my youngest daughter has also completed her graduation,” Maryam said.

“There can be no prouder moment for parents than seeing their children graduate and complete their education,” she said, wishing that every parent could experience the same happiness and that every child would have access to quality education.

Maryam said she was particularly pleased because all three of her children had now completed their higher education.

“My three children have completed their higher education,” she said, describing the occasion as a moment of great happiness and pride for herself and her family.

Mahnoor Safdar, the youngest of Maryam Nawaz and Muhammad Safdar’s three children, studied at SOAS University of London from 2023 to 2026.

Maryam travelled to London specifically to attend the graduation and kept the visit private, with no formal political engagements announced during her short stay.

Earlier, she met PML-N UK leaders Ahsan Dar and Khurram Butt at a luncheon.

PML-N remains united, says Maryam

Responding to questions about reports of differences within the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam rejected suggestions that the party was divided.

“Who said the party is divided?” she said.

She added that several people had previously attempted to divide the PML-N but the party remained intact.

“Many came who tried to divide the PML-N, and many went away. The PML-N is still standing where it was,” Maryam said.

The chief minister maintained that the ruling party remained united and dismissed speculation about serious internal differences.

On the debate surrounding the creation of new provinces and administrative units, Maryam said governments should focus on delivering results for the public.

She said other provinces should also work in the same manner as Punjab, adding that visible improvements required sustained effort and hard work.

Maryam said her government was working day and night for development and public welfare in Punjab, stressing that governments had to work consistently if they wanted their performance to be visible to the people.
