WEB DESK: Gold prices in Pakistan registered a modest increase on Monday in line with gains in the international market after a sharp decline in the previous trading session.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola in the local market increased by Rs300 to reach Rs427,736.
The price of 10 grams of gold also rose by Rs257, taking it to Rs366,714.
In the international market, gold prices climbed by $3 per ounce to settle at $4,053.
The latest increase follows a significant decline in the previous session, when the price of gold per tola fell by Rs4,600 to Rs427,436.
Market analysts said investors continue to view gold as a safe-haven asset during periods of economic and geopolitical uncertainty, supporting demand for the precious metal.
They added that gold prices could continue to move higher if global geopolitical tensions and economic uncertainty persist. However, they cautioned that prices could remain volatile if the US dollar strengthens or major central banks adjust their monetary policies.
Experts advised investors to closely monitor both domestic and international market trends before making buying or selling decisions, noting that even small shifts in the global economic outlook can significantly influence gold prices.
