RAWALPINDI: Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that the fight against terrorism will continue with full national resolve until lasting peace and stability are achieved across the country.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the army chief made these remarks while addressing the investiture ceremony held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
During the ceremony, Field Marshal Munir conferred military awards on officers and soldiers of the armed forces in recognition of their bravery in operations and meritorious services to the nation.
The military’s media wing said the honours included 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat. Medals awarded posthumously were received with honour by the families of martyrs.
Paying tribute to the fallen heroes, the army chief described martyrs as the “pride of the nation,” saying their sacrifices form a sacred trust for Pakistan.
He said the country’s peace and security have been achieved through the “supreme sacrifices and unwavering devotion to duty” of armed forces personnel.
Field Marshal Munir also expressed deep appreciation for the resilience and dignity of the families of martyrs, acknowledging their continued sacrifices for the nation.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring long-term stability across the country through sustained efforts and national unity.
