U.S. envoy praises Pakistan’s counter-terror efforts

Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Acting U.S. Ambassador Natalie Baker on Tuesday, where the U.S. diplomat strongly condemned the suicide blast near an Islamabad court and offered condolences to the families of those killed. She also paid tribute to Pakistan’s continued sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi said the attackers had intended to target the court but were prevented from entering due to strict security measures. All individuals linked to the incident have been traced, and the facilitators have been taken into custody, he added. Investigations into the tragic attack are underway from every angle.

Naqvi reiterated that dialogue and terrorism cannot occur side by side, stressing that Pakistan-U.S. ties are anchored in friendship and mutual trust.

Acting Ambassador Baker appreciated Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts. Senior officials, including the Islamabad Police IG, were also present at the meeting.
