Türkiye is planning to establish a facility in Pakistan to assemble combat drones, according to Turkish officials familiar with the matter.
The move is part of Ankara’s efforts to expand its defense industry in international markets.
Türkiye’s defense exports rose 30% in the first 11 months of 2025, reaching a record $7.5 billion, Haluk Gorgun, head of Türkiye defense-industry body, confirmed.
Pakistan and Türkiye have long-standing defense cooperation and are also discussing joint production of MİLGEM corvettes, modernization of Pakistan’s F-16 fleet, and Pakistan’s participation in the KAAN fifth-generation fighter jet program.
No official statements have been released by authorities in either country regarding the planned drone facility.
