ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s ambassador to Türkiye presented prestigious civil awards to a Turkish professor and the honorary consul of Pakistan in Izmir during a ceremony at Pakistan House in Ankara on Wednesday.
Prof. Asuman Belen Ozcan, chairperson and head of the Department of Urdu Language and Literature at Ankara University, was awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz. Cahit Yasar Eren, Honorary Consul General of Pakistan in Izmir, received the Sitara-i-Pakistan. Both awards were conferred on behalf of the President of Pakistan in recognition of their distinguished services to Pakistan and their efforts to strengthen Pakistan-Türkiye relations.

Ambassador Yousaf Junaid extended his heartiest congratulations to the recipients, describing the awards as a well-deserved honour. He praised Prof. Ozcan’s contributions to promoting Urdu language and literature and commended Cahit Yasar Eren for his role in fostering diplomatic and cultural ties between the two countries.

The civil awards ceremony was attended by Ankara Governor Vasip Sahin, Turkish dignitaries, prominent businessmen, and other officials, highlighting the importance of the event in reinforcing bilateral cooperation and friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye.
