TLP pauses march towards Islamabad as talks with govt continue

ISLAMABAD: Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) has decided to suspend its march towards Islamabad while negotiations with the government remain underway, sources said.

According to officials, the first round of talks between the two sides had ended without a breakthrough, after which a second round was initiated. During the discussions, TLP leadership directed participants of the march to stay in Muridke instead of advancing towards the capital. However, the party has made it clear that the march will not be called off entirely and will resume if negotiations fail.

Following progress in the talks, the government reopened motorways and restored internet services that had been suspended earlier. All major highways connecting Islamabad to other cities were reopened, though security deployment at sensitive points in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, including containers and police presence, will remain in place until negotiations conclude successfully.
