Sindh police put on alert amid flood threat

KARACHI: Inspector General of Sindh Police Ghulam Nabi Memon on Friday directed Sukkur and Larkana division police to remain on high alert in view of possible flooding in the province.

The police chief instructed officers to ensure timely rescue operations in low-lying areas and keep citizens informed of precautionary measures. He further directed that rescue strategies and updates should be regularly communicated to field personnel.

Mr Memon also called for close coordination with federal and provincial agencies to strengthen preparedness. He emphasised that residents living near the Indus River and seasonal storm drains should be shifted to safer locations without delay.

“Protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the foremost priority of Sindh police,” the IG said.
