Gujrat: The district administration has imposed Section 144, banning the distribution of food, water, and relief items among flood victims without prior permission. The order was issued by Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain, stating that the step has been taken to protect the health and safety of the affected population.
According to the notification, any individuals, welfare organizations, political or religious parties distributing essential supplies without official authorization will face legal action. Officials have been directed to take immediate steps against violators.

The Gujrat administration explained that the move was necessary to prevent disorder and ensure that only safe and standardized food and relief items reach the victims. However, philanthropists and welfare groups have expressed concern over the restrictions, arguing that instead of creating hurdles, authorities should encourage support during this difficult time.
