The Special Communications Organization’s (SCO) flagship initiative, SCO Vision 2025, is paving the way for youth empowerment across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), fostering opportunities in the information technology sector and beyond.

Under the SCO Vision 2025 program, over 100 modern IT setups have been established across the two regions, marking a significant milestone in digital development. More than 700 individuals have gained employment, while 1,500 freelancers have been empowered through various capacity-building programs.

Notably, Pakistan’s first Women’s Software Technology Park has been established in Muzaffarabad under this vision, offering new opportunities for women in the tech industry. The SCO has also launched autonomous residential centers for differently-abled individuals, promoting inclusivity and independence.

These initiatives have collectively contributed to earning nearly USD 20 million in foreign exchange, reflecting the growing digital potential of the region.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director General of SCO stated:

“Under SCO Vision 2025, 100 joint IT parks have been established in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.”

He further added:

“These IT parks were completed in a record period of just two years.”

Reaffirming SCO’s commitment, the DG said:

“SCO is determined to empower youth and lead an IT revolution across the region.”
