LAHORE: The Punjab government has ordered a survey to assess losses in flood-hit areas and decided to seek the assistance of the Pakistan Army in carrying out the exercise, sources told Pakistan Narrative on Wednesday.
According to sources, district administrations will identify affected villages and estimate the required resources, while joint teams comprising the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Urban Unit and district authorities will be formed. The PDMA will oversee the survey across Punjab.

The government has set a one-month target to complete a door-to-door survey of nearly 1,700 affected villages. Additional staff will also be hired to expedite the process. Officials said a district-wise list of losses would be prepared to ensure transparent relief and rehabilitation.
Each assistant commissioner’s office will establish a complaints cell where victims can directly register their grievances. Payments of financial assistance to affected families will be made through designated camp sites, with SMS alerts notifying them of disbursements.
