ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has stated that students are an integral part of the system and their future will not be compromised under any circumstances.

In an official public statement, the council said it had taken serious note of the points raised during the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health. PMDC said it fully understands the concerns of students, parents, and all stakeholders, and is actively working to address them through practical measures.

The council noted that it is introducing digitalization and standardization measures to ensure that annual examinations are conducted with uniformity and transparency across the country, providing equal and fair opportunities to all students.

To resolve the issue of vacant seats in medical and dental colleges, PMDC said it is working closely with universities and the Ministry of Law to develop a legally sound and transparent solution so that seats are not wasted and candidates are given timely opportunities.

PMDC also stated that it continues close coordination with IBCC to maintain balance and harmonization between Cambridge and local board students. The council assured that all foreign system students will be given fair and transparent grading and facilitation.

Reaffirming its commitment, PMDC said it considers every student as part of its responsibility and is providing full support to protect their educational interests. It added that all its decisions will be made on the principles of student welfare, transparency, and adherence to national standards.

The council emphasized that it will continue performing its role as a professional, transparent, and student-centered regulator and will further strengthen Pakistan’s medical and dental education system in line with international standards. PMDC assured that complete support will be extended to every student and no compromise will be made on their future.
