PM Shehbaz, Turkish President Erdogan discuss flood situation in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday received a telephone call from President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

President Erdogan expressed deep sorrow over the recent floods in different parts of Pakistan. He conveyed solidarity with the people of Pakistan over the loss of precious lives and property and offered Türkiye’s support for relief and rescue operations. He assured that Türkiye was ready to provide all possible assistance during this difficult time.

The prime minister thanked the Turkish president for his heartfelt sentiments and generous offer of help, noting that the call reflected the strong, deep, and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Türkiye. He said the two countries have always stood by each other in times of need.

The two leaders also discussed their earlier conversations this year and their upcoming meeting on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, China.
