ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced a special Ramadan Relief Package 2026, allocating a massive amount of Rs38 billion to support deserving families during the holy month.
The prime minister formally launched the package by pressing a button, marking the official start of the nationwide initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, PM Shehbaz said the funds will be distributed across the federal capital, all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir through digital wallets and digital bank accounts.
He stated that every eligible family will receive Rs13,000 without discrimination during Ramadan. The package will cover more than 2.1 million families who are not currently part of any government welfare programme.

In addition, the prime minister announced that Rs10 billion has also been allocated for the already supported one crore families under existing welfare schemes.
Overall, the relief funds will be distributed among 12.1 million families, benefiting nearly 60 million people across the country.
The prime minister said payments will be made directly through banking channels to ensure transparency and ease for citizens.
A high-level committee comprising federal ministers will oversee all stages of the Ramadan Relief Package implementation, while a dedicated helpline, 9999, has also been established for public assistance.
