ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday received a telephone call from Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, who conveyed condolences over the loss of life and property caused by recent floods in different parts of Pakistan.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, President Pezeshkian expressed solidarity with the affected families and assured that Iran stood ready to extend all possible assistance to Pakistan during this difficult time.

The prime minister thanked the Iranian president for his message of sympathy and support, appreciating Tehran’s expression of goodwill at a moment of national distress. Mr Sharif also conveyed his deep respect and best wishes for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Both leaders also looked forward to their expected interaction on the sidelines of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China, and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
