ISLAMABAD: Relief for consumers is on the cards as petroleum product prices are expected to fall by up to Rs6 per litre from October 16, sources told Geo News on Tuesday.
According to working papers prepared by oil marketing companies, petrol may see a reduction of Rs6.10 per litre for the next fortnight. High-speed diesel is expected to drop by Rs0.97 per litre, while kerosene may come down by Rs2.75 and light diesel by Rs1.64 per litre.

Sources said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will forward its pricing summary to the government tomorrow (Wednesday). Final approval will rest with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The official announcement of the revised prices is expected on October 15 late night. Currently, the government is charging over Rs100 per litre in taxes on petrol, sources added.
