PCB Finalizes Preparations for New 10-Year PSL Franchise Agreement

Preparations for the new ten-year Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise agreements have reached their final stage. Representatives from the chartered firm EY MENA met with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to discuss the future structure and valuation of the league.

PSL CEO Salman Naseer and COO Sameer Syed also attended the meeting, where Mohsin Iqbal and his team from EY MENA presented a detailed valuation report on the PSL’s financial worth and market potential.

Chairman Mohsin Naqvi carefully reviewed the report and raised several questions regarding its findings and methodology. He directed the chartered firm to meet all existing franchises to gather their input and ensure full transparency in the process.

The new franchise agreements will be finalized based on the valuation report, with EY MENA responsible for determining the updated market value of each franchise. The PCB has instructed that the process be completed as soon as possible.

The contracts of the six current PSL franchises are set to expire in December, with the league expanding to eight teams. The new ten-year agreements will be signed only with eligible franchises, ensuring a strong and sustainable foundation for the PSL’s next decade.
