ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Passports has achieved a major milestone in improving transparency, efficiency and speed in passport services by introducing a new system to monitor applications, printing and overall performance. On the directives of the Director General of Passports, a dedicated 24/7 monitoring room has been established at the headquarters.

Through a modern digital integrated dashboard, daily operations will now be continuously monitored and evaluated. The new system enables real-time monitoring of passport applications and deliveries across Pakistan and around the world.

Under this system, every stage of the passport process — from application submission to final delivery — will be closely monitored. It will also automatically identify overcrowding at passport offices, helping authorities respond promptly.

The advanced monitoring framework will track staff performance, passport printing processes, backlog status and machinery condition through a network management system. This will allow timely identification of issues and immediate corrective action.

Director General of Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi said the modern monitoring system would further enhance the department’s performance, ensuring better service delivery. He added that the system would monitor not only the efficiency of officers and staff but also citizen footfall at all offices, with mechanisms in place to resolve identified issues without delay.
