Pakistan’s Muhammad Hasnain etched his name into snooker history on Friday by winning the IBSF World Under-17 Snooker Championship 2025, defeating Wales’ Riley Powell in a commanding 4-0 final victory.

The one-sided final, held in Bahrain’s capital, saw the young Pakistani cueist deliver a flawless performance, outclassing his opponent in every frame and leaving no room for a comeback.

From the opening break, Hasnain showcased remarkable skill, tactical maturity, and composure far beyond his years, keeping Powell on the back foot throughout the match.

Hasnain’s triumph adds to Pakistan’s growing legacy in international snooker and reaffirms the country’s depth of talent at the junior level.

The 17-year-old’s road to the title was marked by clinical wins. In the semi-final, he swept aside Poland’s Oliwier Nezalek 4-0. Prior to that, he defeated another Polish player, Krzysztof Chlapek, 3-1 in the quarter-final, and overcame Oman’s Moatasem Al-Saadi 3-0 in the pre-quarterfinals.

Hasnain’s emphatic victory comes as Pakistan eyes another potential title, with seasoned cueist Mohammad Asif set to face India’s Brijesh Damani in the final of the IBSF World Masters Snooker Championship.
