COLOMBO: A Pakistani relief team arrived in Sri Lanka on Wednesday aboard a Pakistan Air Force C-130 aircraft to support ongoing rescue and relief efforts following severe flooding across the country.
The team was sent on the special directives of the Prime Minister to assist Sri Lankan authorities in managing the humanitarian situation caused by the recent floods.

Upon arrival in Colombo, Pakistan’s High Commissioner Major General (R) Faheem Ul Aziz and Sri Lanka’s Deputy Minister for Ports received the Pakistani rescue personnel. The High Commissioner assured the team of full support on behalf of the Government of Pakistan and greeted each member personally.

He reiterated that Pakistan has always stood by Sri Lanka in times of difficulty and will continue to do so.
In addition to the deployed rescue team, the Government of Pakistan will soon dispatch 200 tons of relief goods via sea to further aid flood-affected communities across Sri Lanka.
