RAWALPINDI: The Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, Rear Admiral Saif Bin Nasser Bin Mohsin Al Rahbi, called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad on Wednesday, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional maritime security and bilateral naval cooperation. The visiting dignitary praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Navy and acknowledged its continued contributions towards ensuring maritime security and stability in the region.
Later, the Chief of the Naval Staff and the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman signed a Memorandum of Understanding related to the sharing of white shipping information. The MoU aims to establish guidelines and procedures for information sharing to enhance mutual awareness of commercial and non-military maritime traffic.

ISPR said Pakistan and Oman enjoy geographical proximity and share common maritime boundaries. The bilateral relationship between the two brotherly countries spans a wide range of areas, including economic cooperation, people-to-people contacts and strong defence ties.
Both navies maintain deep professional relations, reflected through expert-level staff talks, training programmes, bilateral naval exercises and participation in multilateral maritime exercises.
