KARACHI: The second edition of the Pakistan International Maritime Expo and Conference (PIMEC-25) opened at the Expo Centre Karachi, bringing together maritime industry leaders, international delegations, and policymakers from around the world.
Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Saleh Al Jasser, attended the ceremony as Guest of Honour, while Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal was the Chief Guest. They were received by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf upon arrival.

In his address, Ahsan Iqbal underscored the vast potential of Pakistan’s maritime sector to drive economic growth and development. He lauded the Pakistan Navy for its continued efforts to promote awareness of the Blue Economy and for organising the international expo to showcase Pakistan’s maritime capabilities.
The Chief Guest officially inaugurated PIMEC-25 and unveiled a commemorative postal stamp to mark the occasion, followed by a tour of the exhibition halls.

Organised by Pakistan Navy under the patronage of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, the four-day event will run until November 6, featuring participation from 44 countries and 178 international and local exhibitors.
The expo aims to enhance maritime cooperation, attract investment, and highlight opportunities in Pakistan’s Blue Economy, reflecting the country’s growing engagement with the global maritime community.
