ISLAMABAD: According to the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand to discuss matters of mutual interest and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.
During the discussion, both sides agreed to promote collaboration in various sectors, including trade, investment, agriculture, mining, and minerals. They emphasized the importance of expanding economic ties and creating new avenues for sustainable development.
The two ministers also agreed to strengthen engagement under the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA) to encourage investment flows between Pakistan and Canada.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to fostering an investor-friendly environment and furthering economic partnership with Canada.

Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s facilitation in the export of Canadian canola and reaffirmed Canada’s intent to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors for mutual benefit.
Both sides reiterated their desire to continue dialogue and build on the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Canada.
