Pakistan and Bangladesh have signed six Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening cooperation in trade, security, media, culture, and administrative training. The agreements were concluded during Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s visit to Dhaka, where he is leading a high-level delegation in bilateral talks.
Bangladesh’s delegation is headed by Advisor on Foreign Affairs Muhammad Towhid Hussain. According to officials, the discussions have so far covered a wide range of bilateral, regional, and international issues, with a focus on deepening economic and trade relations, regional connectivity, and the revival of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).

The six MoUs and agreements signed include:

Visa-free travel for diplomats and government officials.

Cooperation between the Foreign Service Academies of both countries.

A media partnership between Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).

Collaboration between the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad and Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies.

Establishment of the Pakistan-Bangladesh Trade Joint Working Group.

A cultural exchange program for 2025–2028.
The documents were signed under the supervision of Ishaq Dar and Advisor Hussain.
In a separate meeting, the two leaders also discussed regional and global developments, including the situation in Palestine, the Rohingya issue, and the future of SAARC. Advisor Hussain hosted a luncheon in Dar’s honor, reaffirming both sides’ commitment to advancing bilateral ties.
