Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry held a special interactive session with faculty members and students from various universities in Abbottabad. The session was attended by a large number of teachers and students who actively participated in the discussion.
During the conversation, the DG ISPR addressed important topics including the recent Pakistan-Afghanistan border tensions, the overall national security situation, and the ongoing fight against terrorism and extremism.
Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif emphasized that Pakistan has taken effective measures to counter terrorism and the menace of fitna al-khawarij. He reiterated that the Pakistan Army remains resolute in the defense of the nation and that any external aggression would be met with a strong and decisive response.
Teachers and students paid rich tributes to the martyrs and veterans of the Pakistan Armed Forces. Vice Chancellor of Hazara University Dr. Ikram Ullah Khan remarked that “the Pakistan Army is the true symbol of love for the motherland” and reaffirmed that “the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces, who are always on the front lines.”
Faculty members expressed concern over increasing attempts by hostile elements to mislead the youth through misinformation campaigns. They underscored the importance of providing students with accurate and verified information to counter such narratives.
Students shared that the session helped dispel misconceptions about national and provincial issues as well as the role of the Pakistan Army. “We are proud to belong to a country whose armed forces not only defend the borders but also inspire and guide the youth,” one student remarked. Another added that the interaction helped them better understand the reality behind false propaganda circulating on social media against the armed forces.
