KARACHI: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf visited forward posts in the Creeks Area to review operational preparedness and combat readiness of Pakistan Navy units. During the visit, three state-of-the-art 2400 TD Hovercraft were formally inducted into the Pakistan Marines, marking a major advancement in the Navy’s modernization drive.

The newly inducted hovercraft are capable of operating across multiple terrains — including shallow waters, sand dunes, marshy zones, and littoral areas — providing unmatched versatility in coastal and riverine operations. Their ability to maneuver over both land and sea offers the Pakistan Marines a significant tactical edge, enhancing the Navy’s capacity for swift and decisive action in complex environments.

Addressing officers and sailors, Admiral Naveed Ashraf highlighted that the induction of these modern platforms reflects Pakistan Navy’s resolve to strengthen the defence of the country’s maritime borders, particularly in the strategically vital Creeks Area.

He emphasized that securing Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs) and ensuring maritime security are vital to Pakistan’s sovereignty, economic prosperity, and regional stability. “Pakistan Navy stands as the vanguard of peace and security in the Indian Ocean Region,” the Naval Chief said, reaffirming the service’s commitment to defending every inch of the nation’s maritime frontiers.
