RAWALPINDI: City Rawalpindi police have uncovered a massive underground oil theft operation in the Dhamial area’s Ranyal locality, where 12,821 barrels of government-owned oil were siphoned off from the main supply line. The stolen oil is valued at over Rs 250 million.
According to police, a case has been registered on the complaint of a Senior Executive Admin official, naming Sharafat Ali, Muhammad Bilal, Muhammad Wajid, and Rao Muhammad Ayyub as suspects.

The FIR states that the accused tampered with the main supply line, constructed underground tanks, and used a dumper truck modified with hidden fuel tanks disguised under gravel to steal and transport the oil.
During the raid, police recovered 8 liters of oil, rubber pipes, theft equipment, weapons, and ammunition from the suspects’ possession.
Officials said the accused were part of an organized network involved in large-scale oil theft, and strict legal action is being pursued against them.
