RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed nine terrorists belonging to the Indian-backed group Fitna al Khwarij in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 5 December.
An intelligence-based operation in Tank district led to the killing of seven militants after an intense exchange of fire. Another operation in Lakki Marwat district resulted in the elimination of two more terrorists. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from both sites.
The militants were involved in attacks against security forces, law enforcement agencies, and targeted killings of civilians. Sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining militants as part of the Azm e Istehkam counterterrorism campaign against foreign-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan.
