Next AJK PM’s name will announce from Kashmir, Not Islamabad: Bilawal Bhutto

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reaffirmed his party’s long-standing commitment to the cause of Kashmir, saying that the PPP has always stood by the Kashmiri people and raised their voice at every national and international forum.

Speaking to the media after chairing a meeting of the PPP Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Parliamentary Party, Bilawal said the performance and efforts of the PPP are visible to everyone. “The Pakistan Peoples Party has always championed the cause of Kashmir and fought for its freedom on global platforms,” he said.

Bilawal Bhutto recalled that during his tenure as Foreign Minister, he worked to ensure that the voice of the Kashmiri people was heard internationally. “Whenever and wherever the people of Kashmir needed support, the PPP stood by them,” he added, emphasizing that the party’s history and bond with Kashmir are well known.

The PPP Chairman alleged that the party’s victory in AJK was unfairly converted into defeat, creating a political vacuum due to what he termed a “non-political mindset.” He also said that the role of all political actors during the tenure of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is on record and before the public.

“From Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to Benazir Bhutto and now this generation, the Pakistan Peoples Party has fought Kashmir’s case for three generations,” Bilawal stated. He reaffirmed that the PPP is a political and democratic party committed to serving the people through dialogue and representation.

Bilawal further declared that any future PPP government in Azad Kashmir will take full responsibility for governance within the region. “The name of the next Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir will not be decided in Islamabad—it will be announced from Azad Kashmir itself,” he asserted.
