Islamabad: An accountability court on Friday handed over four accused in the Upper Kohistan scandal to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a five-day physical remand.
Accountability Judge Ali Gohar approved NAB’s request after the investigating officer stated that the accused had issued fake cheques and carried out heavy transactions without verification or clearance.

According to the investigation, accused Shafiq Ali opened an account through which transactions were made in collusion with others. Another accused, Alamzeb, serving as a senior auditor at the Accountant General’s office, facilitated the creation of accounts and the transactions.
The investigating officer argued that further interrogation was required, upon which the court accepted the plea and granted physical remand of all four suspects in Upper Kohistan Scandal to NAB for five days.
