Karachi: A suspicious bag recovered from the Malir River near Korangi Causeway during a cleaning operation was found to contain weapons, ammunition, and hand grenades, police said Friday.
According to SSP Korangi Tariq Nawaz, the bag contained old and rusted firearms, assorted ammunition, and hand grenades. The Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately called to the site as a precaution.

Police believe the bag may have been deliberately hidden in the riverbed. “The ammunition includes rounds for both small and large weapons,” SSP Nawaz added.
Authorities have launched further investigations into the incident.
