RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s military on Wednesday strongly rejected what it described as “fabricated, delusional and provocative propaganda” emanating from the Indian military leadership in the run-up to state elections in Bihar and West Bengal.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) expressed grave concern that even five months after Maarka-e-Haq, Indian commanders were resorting to the same “regurgitated lies and irresponsible chest-thumping” aimed at domestic political mileage rather than regional stability.
“It is saddening to see the military leadership of a nuclear-armed country issuing reckless statements under immense political pressure,” the ISPR said, adding that the falsehoods being fed to the Indian public had reduced the credibility of the Indian military establishment to “a laughing stock” internationally.
The statement said the contradictions in India’s press briefing were so glaring that they did not warrant a detailed reply. However, the ISPR pointed out that Indian attempts to “mould history with Bollywood-style scripts” reflected their inability to reconcile with the fact that they were “decisively beaten in Maarka-e-Haq” and their propaganda had been fully exposed.
According to the ISPR, the world today recognises India as the “true face of cross-border terrorism” and the “epicentre of regional instability,” bent upon hegemonism and adventurism to the detriment of its own people and neighbouring countries.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve, the statement declared: “The Armed Forces and people of Pakistan are fully capable and committed to defend every inch of our territory with complete resolve. Every act of aggression will be dealt with a swift, resolute and intense response — one that will be remembered by posterity.”
The military media wing concluded by cautioning that unnecessary provocations and war-mongering could trigger serious consequences for regional peace and stability.
