Karachi: A preliminary investigation report into the death of journalist Khawar Hussain has been submitted to the Sindh Inspector General of Police, suggesting the incident appears to be a case of suicide.
According to the report, the pistol was fired at close range against the temple, and the bullet was discharged from the licensed weapon registered in the journalist’s name.
The report noted that data from Hussain’s mobile phone has not yet been restored. His last call was made to a water tanker supplier, who delivered water to his residence.

Initial medical findings also support the suicide theory, though officials said final confirmation would come after further forensic reports.
All available CCTV footage related to the incident has also been reviewed, the report added.
