ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday granted police three days to recover Muhammad Usman, Deputy Director of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), who was allegedly abducted.
Justice Muhammad Azam Khan issued the directive while hearing a petition filed by the victim’s wife, Rozina Usman. During the proceedings, however, it was revealed that Rozina herself had also gone missing.
Rozina’s lawyer, Raja Rizwan Abbasi, told the court that his client had informed him over the phone that she was being pressured to withdraw the petition. He added that her husband, who was working on “sensitive cases,” was abducted in a white Corolla with a fake number plate, and now her own phone had been switched off.
The lawyer urged the court to summon the NCCIA’s Central Director and the Islamabad Inspector General (IG). Police requested a week to complete efforts, but the judge granted only three days, warning that if the recovery was not made, both the NCCIA Central Director and IG Islamabad would have to appear in court.

Justice Azam Khan observed that it was a “very serious matter,” questioning how a suspicious vehicle with a fake plate could freely move around the capital despite checkpoints and CCTV cameras. He also directed that call data records (CDRs) of threatening calls to Rozina be traced.
The Assistant Attorney General informed the court that a case had been registered and asked for more time for investigation.
Adjourning the proceedings, the court directed police to ensure recovery of the abducted official within three days.
