Women’s World Cup 2025

KARACHI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday announced changes to the schedule and venues of the Women’s World Cup 2025, shifting the final and semi-final fixtures as part of its hybrid hosting model.

The tournament final will now be played on November 2 in either Colombo, Sri Lanka, or Navi Mumbai, India. It was earlier slated for Bangalore or Colombo. Semi-finals will also be split between Guwahati, India, and Colombo, with Pakistan’s knockout fixture — should they qualify — to be staged in Colombo.

Under the revised plan, the Pakistan women’s team will play all its group-stage matches in Sri Lanka to minimise travel. Their campaign opens against Bangladesh on October 2, followed by a high-profile clash with India on October 5 in Colombo. Pakistan will then face Australia on October 8, England on October 15, New Zealand on October 18, South Africa on October 21 and hosts Sri Lanka on October 24.

The Women’s World Cup 2025 is being organised under a hybrid arrangement, with matches shared between India and Sri Lanka.
