RAWALPINDI: Security Forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij, the military’s media wing said on Monday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), troops effectively engaged the location during the operation and, after an intense exchange of fire, four militants were killed.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who, the statement said, had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
A sanitisation operation is under way to eliminate any other militants found in the vicinity. The ISPR said the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
