RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), who is on an official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, called on His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, King of Jordan and Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, at the Royal Palace in Amman.
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was also present during the meeting.
Both dignitaries discussed matters of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on enhancing bilateral cooperation in defence and security, as well as exchanging views on regional developments.
COAS Asim Munir conveyed warm greetings from the people, Government, and Armed Forces of Pakistan to His Majesty the King and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its long-standing fraternal relations with Jordan. His Majesty King Abdullah II appreciated the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces toward regional peace and stability and expressed his desire to further enhance defence collaboration between the two countries.
Earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir also met Major General Yousef Ahmed Al-Huneiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), at the General Headquarters in Amman. The COAS was presented with a Guard of Honour upon arrival.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the deep-rooted and historic military ties between the armed forces of Pakistan and Jordan. Major General Al-Huneiti lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces’ significant contributions to global peace and regional security.
The visit underscores Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to expand its defence diplomacy and strengthen strategic partnerships with friendly nations in the Middle East.
