Daughter of ex-Air Marshal Nur Khan dies in car crash in Virginia

Virginia: Dr Faiqa Aftab Qureshi, a 75-year-old Pakistani-origin pediatric emergency specialist, daughter of former Air Marshal Nur Khan was killed in a fatal car accident in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, United States, on Friday, authorities said.

According to Virginia State Police, troopers were dispatched around 9am on December 26 to investigate a single-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 85, approximately 2.5 miles north of McKenney Highway.

Officials said a 2024 Lexus RX 350, being driven by a female driver, veered off the left side of the highway and subsequently caught fire. Dr Qureshi was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation.

Dr Faiqa Aftab Qureshi was a pediatric emergency expert and was reportedly serving at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Virginia. She was the daughter of late Air Marshal Nur Khan and an alumna of King Edward Medical University (KEMU), Lahore.

She graduated from KEMU in 1973 and also served the institution as a teacher during her medical career.
