Complaint filed against LHC Chief Justice and two Judges

LHC

ISLAMABAD: A formal complaint has been submitted against the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC), along with two other judges, raising questions about their qualifications and eligibility to hold judicial office.

The complaint names Chief Justice Alia Neelum and Justice Abhar Gul Khan. It urges the Supreme Judicial Council to review the educational credentials and overall suitability of both judges, claiming that they are not eligible to continue in their judicial positions.

Specifically, concerns have been raised regarding Justice Abhar Gul Khan’s degree, with a request for verification of his educational record before confirming him as a permanent judge.

The complaint also alleges that women district judges in Lahore are being targeted and transferred to remote areas, impacting their careers. These allegations have reportedly been submitted by the parents of affected female judges and judicial officers, who wish to remain anonymous for their protection.

The complaint further requests a review of Chief Justice Alia Neelum’s alleged interference in the district judiciary. It calls for strict action, including dismissal from office, if the allegations are found to be accurate.
