RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI, NI (M), during his official visit to Brunei Darussalam, called on His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah Ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The CJCSC also held separate meetings with Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence-II, and Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
During his visit, General Mirza toured KDB Darulaman at the Muara Naval Base and the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces, where he delivered a lecture on “Pakistan’s Contributions to Regional Peace and Stability” and interacted with students of the Command and Staff Course, including officers from 19 foreign countries.
Discussions during the meetings focused on the evolving global and regional security environment and ways to further enhance defence cooperation between Pakistan and Brunei. The CJCSC reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening bilateral military-to-military collaboration.
His Majesty the Sultan and the civil-military leadership of Brunei Darussalam lauded the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their significant achievements and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Upon arrival at the Headquarters Royal Brunei Armed Forces, General Mirza was presented with a Guard of Honour by a smartly turned-out military contingent.
