FAISALABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Faisalabad on Monday announced its reserved verdict in the May 9, 2023, attack case on the residence of PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah.
ATC Judge Javed Iqbal delivered the judgment in the case (Rana Sanaullah House Attack) registered at Samanabad police station on the complaint of Sub-Inspector Ghulam Mustafa. A total of 109 individuals had been nominated in the FIR.
The court handed down 10-year prison terms each to PTI leaders Shibli Faraz, Omar Ayub and Zartaj Gul. Similar sentences were awarded to Kanwal Shauzab, Ahmad Chattha, Rai Hassan Nawaz, Ansar Iqbal and Bilal Ejaz.

Two local PTI MPAs, Ismail Sila and Shahid Javed, were also sentenced to 10 years each. Nabeel, brother of PTI leader Farrukh Habib, and Sanaullah, brother of former MPA Mian Waris, were likewise awarded the same punishment.
However, the court acquitted 34 accused, including Zain Qureshi and Fawad Chaudhry, giving them the benefit of the doubt.
