Field Marshal Asim Munir meets Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian

ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, called on Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during the latter’s visit to Pakistan, where both sides exchanged views on regional developments and ongoing peace initiatives.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), President Pezeshkian appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in promoting dialogue, de-escalation and regional stability.

The Iranian president acknowledged Pakistan’s consistent efforts to encourage the peaceful resolution of disputes and foster understanding among regional stakeholders at a time of heightened geopolitical challenges.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability in the region and underscored the importance of continued dialogue to address shared challenges.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations and maintaining close consultations on issues of mutual interest, with the shared objective of promoting peace, prosperity and stability across the region.
