BEIJING: China’s AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Corporation, manufacturer of the J-10C fighter jets, has reported record financial results, with revenue and profits rising sharply following increased global attention on its aircraft.
According to a report by Bloomberg, the company’s revenue grew by 15.8% to 75.4 billion yuan ($11 billion) in 2025, while profits increased by 6.5% to 3.4 billion yuan — the highest in its history. First-quarter sales also surged nearly 80% year-on-year.
The development comes after the Pakistan Air Force inducted J-10C aircraft in March 2022, enhancing its air combat capabilities with advanced systems, including PL-10 short-range and PL-15 beyond-visual-range missiles.
The fighter jet gained prominence during its first combat deployment in May 2025, when Pakistan responded to an Indian military escalation. During the brief conflict, Pakistan claimed to have downed multiple Indian aircraft, including French-made Rafale jets, using a combination of advanced Chinese systems.
Pakistan also deployed other Chinese-origin platforms, including the HQ-9 air defence system and PL-15 missiles, alongside its JF-17 Thunder aircraft, highlighting growing defence cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing.
The conflict, which lasted several days, ended on May 10 following a ceasefire agreement brokered by the United States.
Months later, Director-General of Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said Chinese-made military platforms had performed “exceptionally well” during the hostilities.
A subsequent report presented to the US Congress by the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission also noted Pakistan’s effective use of advanced Chinese weaponry during the conflict, underscoring its impact on the battlefield.
