ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke on the phone with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Monday, discussing the ongoing regional tensions.
During the conversation, both leaders exchanged views on the heightened security situation in the region. Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia and strongly condemned the attacks on the Jubail Oil Facility that occurred earlier in the day.
He assured the Crown Prince that the government and people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with their Saudi brothers and sisters, just as Saudi leadership and citizens have consistently supported Pakistan during challenging times.
The prime minister also praised the restraint and wisdom shown by Saudi leadership amid the current tensions and highlighted Pakistan’s active diplomatic efforts, in coordination with other countries, to promote peace and de-escalation in the Middle East.
Additionally, Prime Minister Shehbaz extended his best wishes and warm regards to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s role in supporting efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.
