RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces presided over the 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference at General Headquarters, where top military leadership reviewed the country’s internal and external security environment, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The forum offered Fateha for the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians who sacrificed their lives in defence of the country, reaffirming that their legacy remains central to Pakistan’s national security.

The army chief expressed satisfaction over the performance of the armed forces and commended their professionalism, operational excellence and continued intelligence-based counter-terrorism efforts. He emphasised that through coordination between the government, military and public, Pakistan continues to strengthen security gains and economic resilience.

The forum conducted a comprehensive review of the prevailing security situation and reiterated that all terrorist proxies operating on the behest of external sponsors, including India, along with their facilitators, would be pursued and eliminated without exception. It was decided that the pace of counter-terrorism operations, including Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, would continue until militant safe havens are dismantled and the use of Afghan soil against Pakistan is brought to an end.

Participants appreciated the government’s diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the Middle East conflict, calling for restraint, dialogue and de-escalation while reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability.

The forum also expressed concern over recent attacks on petrochemical and industrial facilities in Saudi Arabia, terming them an unnecessary escalation that could undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Rejecting what it termed as disinformation and baseless allegations by India, the forum said such narratives have been discredited internationally. It also raised concerns over alleged human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including reports of extrajudicial killings.

In his concluding remarks, the army chief directed commanders to maintain the highest levels of operational readiness and professionalism, expressing confidence in the armed forces’ ability to counter all threats and safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
