ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority has warned citizens about a fraudulent website impersonating its official portal in an attempt to defraud users online.

According to Nadra, the fake website mimics the authority’s official visa portal and may be used to steal personal information or payments from unsuspecting users.

The authority clarified that the website is not affiliated with Nadra and advised citizens not to access it or provide any personal information through it.

Nadra said the only official visa portal is available at its government domain and reminded citizens to always use websites ending with “.gov.pk” for official services.

Separately, the National Cyber Emergency Response Team issued an advisory stating that nine fake Nadra-style websites had been blocked in the past month for attempting to steal citizens’ personal data.

The advisory urged citizens not to share personal information without proper verification and to avoid clicking on suspicious links received through emails or SMS messages.

It added that Nadra and the National Cyber Emergency Response Team are actively monitoring and taking action against fraudulent cyber activities targeting the public in Pakistan.
