QUETTA: At least six people were killed when unknown gunmen opened fire at a house in the Buleda area of Turbat, Balochistan, police said on Wednesday.

According to officials, a woman was among the deceased, while two others sustained injuries in the Buleda house attack. The bodies and the injured were shifted to Turbat Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The incident comes amid persistent violence in Turbat and other parts of Balochistan, which, along with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, remains among the most affected regions by terrorist activity.

Last month, the province witnessed coordinated attacks linked to the banned outfit Baloch Liberation Army across multiple districts, including Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar and Pasni.

The attacks left 36 civilians, including women and children, dead, along with 22 security and law enforcement personnel.

Security forces subsequently eliminated 216 terrorists in separate engagements and clearance operations under what the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, termed “Operation Raddul Fitna 1”.

Expanding on the counterterror operations, ISPR said actions were launched in Panjgur and the outskirts of Harnai district after credible intelligence confirmed the presence of terrorist elements posing an imminent threat to the local population. A total of 41 terrorists affiliated with Indian proxy networks were killed during these operations.

According to official figures, 58,778 intelligence-based operations were conducted in Balochistan in 2025 — the highest number anywhere in the country. The province witnessed 1,557 terrorism incidents last year, as stated by ISPR Director General Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the latest attack in Turbat, while security in the area has been tightened.
